The popular exhibition - competition Biennale Giovani Monza is back in the spaces of the Serrone of Monza's Royal Palace. The exhibition this year at its seventh edition offers a window on contemporary young art in Italy.
The Biennials were born in 2005 with the intention to renew Monza's historic City Prize, born in the fifties, moving the attention towards young talents of the Italian Art scene, in order to investigate the latest expressions of creativity. The aim of the Biennial is also to acquire the prized works in order to expand the collections of the Civic Museums of Monza. A selection of these prized works, since 2014, with the opening of the Civic Museums, are exhibited in a dedicated section.
This year five prestigious Academies of Fine Arts and their respective teachers have selected thirty artists Under 35 and invited them to participate with their works at the prestigious exhibition-contest.
Five tutors, with a consolidated teaching experience, have thus selected six artists each amongst current students and graduated ones.
The tutors and academies involved are::
Professor of Visual Arts at the Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti (N.A.B.A.) of Milano
Video art teacher at the Academy of Fine Arts of Brera in Milan
