This great trek will take you to explore the surrounding areas of the mighty Ausangate Mountain (6372m/20900ft), passing throughout beautiful Andean villages, amazing turquoise lagoons and natural hot springs.
The Ausangate Trek offers you a real taste of Andean life, as you get to see little communities where they still speak Incan language and where they still have a traditional way of life. If you are wishing to do a genuine Peruvian trek off the beaten track take this trip!
Cusco – Tinki
We leave the city of Cusco by bus and drive along the Cusco / Puerto Maldonado road towards the direction of Tinki. On the way, we stop in Urcos, for some pictures of the colorful market. Then, we go on to Cattca, an agricultural and cattle raising community, where we can appreciate the region's spectacular views.
We arrive in Tinki, where we will spend the night in a local lodge.
Tinki - Pacchanta – Qomerqocha lagoon
After breakfast, we will visit the Tinki public school, to give them some useful gifts. In Pacchanta we stop for lunch.
In the afternoon, we continue our hike to Qomercocha , where we will camp and have dinner.
Qomerqocha lagoon – Yanamayo
breakfast is at 7:00 am and continue with the Abra de Q´ampa . Then, we descend towards the Ticllaqocha Lagoons, a beautiful group of little turquoise lagoons where we will have lunch. In the afternoon, we reach Yanamayo, where we set our camp overlooking the grand Tres Picos, Colquecruz and Pucapunta peaks.
Yanamayo – Condorpaso
After breakfast, we start to climb up towards Yanaqocha or "Black Lagoon".
We will go over Yanaqocha mountain pass to discover an astoundingly beautiful valley with an explosion of colored mountains, three spectacular lagoons and the presence of llamas and alpacas. From this point, an additional hour of hiking leads us to Condorpaso and to our next campsite.

After breakfast, we continue with the Abra del Condor. From this pass, the highest point of our trek, we will enjoy spectacular views of the Vilcanota mountain range and the Sibinacocha Lagoon, which is our next milestone, and hopefully see vicuñas!
and then will descending the Lake Sibinacocha’s . We will camp next to the lagoon
Source of Sibinacocha lagoon – Ccascara:
we depart early , until we reach the community of Yayamari .
Then, we cross a pampa, where we will likely see hundreds of llamas, alpacas and vicuñas.
We will then head towards the Abra Ccascana . Where we will make our last camp.
Ccascara – Phinaya - Cusco
After breakfast, we leave Ccascana and walk for three and a half hours towards Phinaya, where we will have lunch. In the afternoon, we drive back to Cusco, arriving after nightfall.
