This tour will take you to Tijuca Forest and the Taunay Waterfall, Tijuca National Park Museum and Cachoeira das Almas Waterfall. Discover the Tijuca Forest on this great 4-hour, guided tour.
Tijuca Forest is one of the largest urban green areas in the world. It has 3,972 hectares and it is located in the Tijuca National Park. Much of its vegetation is secondary, due to the reforestation to replace the coffee farms. On this 4-hour tour, you will enjoy a great hike starting at the entrance gate.
You will hike several trails containing forest history records. After visiting the Taunay Waterfall and the Tijuca National Park Visitor Center, you will take the way toward the Cachoeira das Almas (Waterfall of the Souls). This beautiful waterfall is formed by the River of Souls, which was named because of the slaves who used to promote cults of their religions on this place, due to its privacy.
After a refreshing time there, you will head back to the meeting point!
