Experience the beauty of the countryside on this half-day tour as you ride with local guides through the mountain trails of Bogotá. Your small-group (maximum of 7 people) will enjoy spectacular views and get a feel for life outside the city. No previous horse riding experience necessary, as your local guide will help you. Helmets and drinks/refreshments will be included in this tour, food and hotel pickup/drop-off will not be.
After pick-up from the meeting point at 9am (Departure is from the Pan Pa Ya in Chapinero (Calle 58 #6-22)), you will travel approximately an hour to the town of La Calera through the eastern mountains lining the city. There, you will meet with your local guide who will help you saddle up for the ride. The trail takes you up through the mountains and offers spectacular views of the San Rafael dam, sub-páramo forests and the rural farmlands. The trail ride typically takes 2 hours at a horse's walking speed; if you gallop, the riding time will be cut down significantly. The total tour time will run from 4-5 hours.
Upon your return, you will enjoy a traditional refreshment prepared by a local family before returning to the meeting point in Bogotá. The tour price includes a bottle of water, private transport and a horse rental with a local Spanish-speaking guide. Please note that you will be riding and not talking, so a bilingual guide/translator is unnecessary.
