A 6-hour guided Ethiopian food experience: visit Merkato or Shola market and sample traditional food from local restaurants, then take part in the preparation of traditional Ethiopian food at a local home and learn about the traditional coffee ceremony (if option selected). Private tour is limited to a maximum group size of 8 participants and includes all samples and lunch (if selected). Begins with pickup and drop-off from your hotel or the airport with a departure time flexible to your preferences (8am suggested).
Begin your day at 8am with pickup from your hotel or the Addis Ababa International Airport by your private driver and guide. (Vehicle is dependent upon option selected).
To start your culinary experience, first visit an open-air market (either Merkato or Shola market). Then head to three different traditional restaurants in Addis Ababa and taste different types of traditional food. Try Mahberawi, Tibs, Kitfo and Beyaynetu, while getting to know the culture of Ethiopia.
If you opt for the lunch option, experience the preparation and making of Ethiopian food in a local home. Bake the traditional injera, then partake in the traditional coffee ceremony. Next, see a traditional dancing ceremony at Dessanech Kitfo near the airport. If you select this option, you will only visit two restaurants.
Tour ends with drop-off at your hotel or the airport at approximately 2pm (dependent on start time selected).
