For those seeking adventure, this is the ideal way to explore the highlights of Namibia on a budget. With 2 nights camping in both Etosha National Park, and the Namib Desert, and then 2 nights in accommodation in the adventure capital of the Skeleton Coast, this safari allows you plenty of time to enjoy the best Namibia has to offer.
Day 1 – THURSDAY: ETOSHA NATIONAL PARK
We will be collected at 07:15 and for the pre-departure talk. We arrive in Etosha and enjoy an afternoon game drive through the park visiting waterholes looking for predators as well as other creatures before arriving at our camp just before sunset. (LD)
Day 2 - FRIDAY: ETOSHA NATIONAL PARK
A full day game driving in Etosha today with the chance to visit the mighty Etosha Pan, before stopping for lunch and a swim at Halali. We then head back to Okaukuejo calling into some well-known waterholes, returning to camp by sunset. (BLD)
Day 3 – SATURDAY AMANPURI TRAVELLERS LODGE or similar, SWAKOPMUND
An early morning breakfast before we leave Etosha. We have the chance to meet and support the local people today as we travel through to Swakopmund. Arriving in late-afternoon we have time to explore this quaint seaside town on foot. After our day of meeting the Himba, Herero & Damara people, dinner tonight is a chance to get to know more about Namibia’s biggest tribe, the Owambo’s, and try some local Namibian delicacies in the township. (BLD)
Day 4 – SUNDAY AMANPURI TRAVELLERS LODGE or similar, SWAKOPMUND
A full day today to enjoy optional activities. For the adrenaline junkies, this could be flying down a sand dune head first, or sky diving over the desert, or for those that prefer something a bit calmer, it could be a desert tour, kayaking, a dolphin cruise, or a stroll around town. Either way, enjoy the weekend at the coast and the chance to sleep in a real bed. (B)
Day 5 – MONDAY SESRIEM, NAMIB NAUKLUFT NATIONAL PARK
Departure from Swakopmund by 8h30 making our way south to Walvis Bay where we stop in at the lagoon to see the flamingos, and learn more about the wetland site.
