Come explore a beautiful and non-touristy historical area in Shanghai with us! Your friendly local expat guide will take you on a walking tour that combines a great balance of delicious street food, historical architecture and cool local designer boutiques. Along the way you will be entertained with a fascinating commentary about Shanghai's history and culture, as well as enjoying fabulous local bites.
We begin the tour on the Western edge of Jing'an District (full details will be provided on your booking voucher) where we will sample local snack food including spring onion pancakes and soup dumplings. While the food is snacky, there will definitely be more than enough food to fill you up for lunch!
Take a leisurely stroll around this interesting and picturesque district and have the opportunity to stop in at local boutiques that sell a wide range of items including clothing, tea, handbags and accessories. Between stopping for food and refreshing drinks, we will also step down some of Shanghai's unexplored alleyways where you will see gorgeous historical residences built in the early 20th century, in a wide range of architectural styles.
Our guides are local expats who have been living in Shanghai for many years. They'll point out interesting sights as well as providing an informative and interesting commentary as you walk between each stop. Your guide can also make excellent suggestions for other things to do during your stay here. You're sure to come away from the tour loving Shanghai as much as we do!
