Bois Cheri Tea Factory
Visit the tea plantation of Bois Cheri, producer of the most popular tea on Mauritius. Just the smell of the wonderful vanilla-infused black tea evokes fond memories for all Mauritians. You’ll have the opportunity to choose a guided visit of the factory and tea plantation, a visit to the tea production museum, a tea tasting, or all three (which is recommended).
Note that entrance fees are not included in the price, allowing you the flexibility to choose exactly what you would like to do on the day of your excursion.
St. Aubin Rhumerie and Vanilla Plantation
The St. Aubin Rhumerie uses both artisanal and traditional distillery techniques to make its award-winning rum. You’ll have the opportunity to visit the factory and learn about the rum-making process and sample the delicious varieties of rum they offer. You can also visit the beautiful colonial house and the vanilla and anthurium flower plantations.
Entrance fees are not included in the price, allowing you the flexibility to choose exactly what you would like to do on the day of your excursion. The distillery is closed on Saturday afternoons, Sundays and public holidays.
Artisanal Ship Model Workshop
Mauritius is well known for its ship models that are expertly hand crafted by talented artisans. People fly to Mauritius from all over the world to admire and purchase these unique and beautiful works of art. You can visit a traditional workshop and learn about the art of model ship building. If you would like to purchase one as a souvenir of your trip, you’ll be able to choose from the many unique models on display.

Gris Gris and La Roche qui Pleure
While most of Mauritius is surrounded by coral reefs, with calm lagoons for which the island is known, on the southern part of the island there is a break in the reef. At Gris Gris, you can see powerful waves crashing on the stunning cliffs. A few meters away, you’ll see La Roche qui Pleure, a natural rock formation that resembles a person crying when the waves strike.
