H 23 °

The Gallery is housed in the historic city centre, in the old building of the 15th century Catalan Gothic style, former residence of Francesco Abatellis, maestro Parkin of the Kingdom. The structure suffered serious damage over the centuries and was restored several times, until the preparation project of Carlo Scarpa of 1953. The exhibits document the figurative culture of western Sicily from the 12th to the 17th century and are the result of donations and acquisitions, including the most significant coming from the National Museum of Palermo (Museo Archeologico regionale) whose interdisciplinary features had been artwork of Antonino Salinas. The vast includes masterpieces by Antonello da Messina, Gagini, Laurana, Novelli.
