The Park was established following the excavations of the castle of Rocca San Silvestro, and looking in the area started in 1984 campigliese by the University of Siena. The park aims to promote not only an individual but an entire monument historical landscape, the result of centuries of mining activity. With its copper mines of silver and the Rocca di San Silvestro, village built at the beginning of the year 1000 to House miners and smelters, constitutes a reference for the Organization of work in medieval mining. The Park also includes two underground paths in the mine, one to visit on foot and others aboard a mining train, the ride up to the ore processing plants. Museum areas and hiking trails nearby, archaeological and naturalistic mining enrich your visit.
