ORATORY OF SAN BERNARDINO AND THE DIOCESAN MUSEUM OF SACRED ART

Via S. Francesco 9 (Siena)

The origin of the Diocesan Museum dates back to 1980, when it was opened a first at the Seminary of exhibition Montearioso. After about 10 years of closure, the Museum was fully reequipped in premises adjacent to the Oratory of San Bernardino in Siena. The construction of the new Diocesan Museum has permitted the development of a complex of great historical and artistic value and protection and usability of a valuable art collection, which constitutes a landmark in the history of sacred art of the Sienese territory.
