The Pinacoteca civica Francesco Podesti is located in the historical centre of Ancona. The current location of the Gallery is at palazzo Bosdari dates back to 1973. Inside are preserved important paintings of Francesco Podesti, Ancona by Carlo from Camerino, Arcangelo di Cola and Andrea Lam, plus various precious works of Venetian origin, territory that Ancona was closely linked to consistent trade relations. Considerable relief "Madonna with child" of Charles, "La Sacra Conversazione by Lorenzo Lotto", "the Immaculate Conception" and "Santa" Palazia by Guercino, la Pala Gozzi by Titian Vecellio depicting "the apparition of the Virgin". One section houses the modern art with works of Bartolini, Bucci, Campigli, Cagli, Cassinari, Cucchi, Levi, Trubbiani and other important contemporary artists. The original nucleus of the works that make up the Pictur dates back to the years between 1880 and 1888 thanks to donation of Podesti, a large group of his cartoons and sketches. They are complemented by works from churches, municipal funds, and private donations.
