The Museum preserves and exhibits objects related to the natural world, science and technology, grouped into sections: Mineralogy (rocks and minerals), Sciences (chemistry, physics, natural sciences, mid 19TH – mid-20TH c.), topography (tools and tools from the mid 19th century to the 1970s), history of the topography (working reproductions of instruments for the measurement of soil from Late Antiquity to the Renaissance) calculating machines (end XIX – late 20th century), educational models – scientific (1920 – 1970), history of design (1950 – 1980 with extensive documentary section). Complete the show the Mathematical Machinery (2012), with equipment for the indirect measurement of distance and a sundial.
To the nature and origin of acquisition of objects, the Museum also offers a glimpse of the history of the city of Caserta during the same period, especially for treaties and unique aspects for presence Cardozo.
The Museum was opened in May 2004 and has been recognized regional interest in December 2008. Develops an incessant increase activities of collections, exhibition areas and, especially, dissemination and promotion of the goods on display, not only among young people and thanks to the young of the Institute "Buonarroti" who perform the functions of reception and guide. The Museum is property of Istituto Tecnico Statale "Michelangelo Buonarroti" which is an integral part. The presence of the Museum in an active and open to school everyday and modernity offers an extraordinary opportunity for personal training and education of young people to cultural heritage. Are periodically organized exhibitions, lectures, concerts and study initiatives, learning and dissemination of preserved heritage.
