Museo Civico-Picture Gallery

via Raffaele De Bartolo , (Rende)

The oldest nucleus of Z Palace (named after one of the notable families of the casentino owner of Palace and many other real estate) in which is housed the Museum, dates back to 1695. After the earthquake of 1854 the building was modified; were added to it a double porch with arches (at the bottom) a Colonnade with neoclassical Doric capitals (at the top) and a terrace. The building revolves around a courtyard. By 1980, right wing houses the Museum. Restoration works have affected the structure from 2001 to 2002. The Museum is comprised of nine rooms, develops into a raised ground floor with entrance stairway and a close-up. The Museum is divided into two sections: folklore art gallery, entitled respectively to Raffaele Lombardi Satriani and Achille Capizzano
