Ancient Florentine House Museum – Palazzo Davanzati

Purchased by the State in 1951, Palazzo Davanzati was opened in 1956 as a Museum of the Florentine House. Fourteenth-century wall decorations hanging draperies, mimicking the terracotta floors, wood ceilings, fireplaces, antique furnishings, objects of common use, well that pops up at different levels, the agiamenti (toilets), kitchen, collection of lace and embroidery show the domestic life of a rich Florentine House between the 14TH and 18th centuries.
