Via Arte della Lana, 1 (Florence)

Oggi: 10:00 AM-5:00 PM

The statues of the patron saints of Florentine guilds, originally placed in shrines outside of Orsanmichele, are exposed, having been restored and replaced with copies, in the great Hall on the first floor of the building, accessed through the Skyway that connects the Palazzo dell'Arte della Lana. Largely built in the second decade of the fifteenth century, the statues of Orsanmichele represent a fundamental document of the early Renaissance sculpture, which contributed among others Donatello, Lorenzo Ghiberti, Nanni di Banco and Andrea del Verrocchio. On the top floor of the building are preserved Gothic sculptures related to Andrea Orcagna.
