Necropolis "Madonna dell'olivo"

Via Tarquinia 41 (Tuscania)

About 2 Km to S-SW of Tuscania is the Madonna dell'olivo, so named from the adjoining Church. As already active in archaic Etruscan necropolis notoriety you must above all to the presence of tombs of the Hellenistic age (4th-1st century BC) arranged on various levels and sometimes with architectural facades and carved decorations. Notes are primarily the Queen's Cave, explored in the last century and connected with a system of tunnels not clear meaning and the tombs of the Curunas family that found between 1967 and 1970, returned rich accoutrements (4th-1st century BC) now exposed at the Archaeological Museum of Tuscania.
