Monument to Italian sailors in Italy

The base has a crypt (shrine) in the shape of the hull, and bows in the shape of a cone, the altar and the statue of the Virgin "star of the sea". On the walls are the names of the roughly 6,000 sailors who fell in the great war and 33,900 sailors fallen of World War II. The square top of the monument are located dueancore belonging to the austro-Hungarian ships "Tegetthoff" and "Viribus Unitis", symbols of victories by the Italian Navy in 1918 and two cannons belonging to the austro-Hungarian submarine. On the port side, right and left, there are high walls depicting the sides of a ship, accessible by two large symmetrical scales on the sides of the crypt.
