The castello di Lombardia is the land where, in the 5th century BC, there was a temple dedicated to Ceres. Replaced by a castrum under the Byzantines, in Norman turned into Castle. The name comes from the lombardiche infantry occupied the Queen Adelaide, wife of Roger I of Sicily.
The location of the Castle offers a vast panorama.
Not far from the Castle stands the Rocca di Cerere built in direction of the rising sun; Since the first settlement of the 14th century BC was a place of worship and became an integral part of the nearby sanctuary.
