The Rolli di Genova-or, more precisely, Rolli degli alloggiamenti pubblici di Genova – were, at the time of the ancient Republic, lists of palaces and country houses of the noble families that excellent wanted to host – based on a public draw – the high personalities in transit for visits of State.
The Rolli represent one of the most prestigious buildings in the historic centre of Genoa, especially along the ancient Roads (via Garibaldi, where the headquarters of the municipality, formerly Via Aurea, and via Balbi, home of the University campus).
On July 13, 2006 42 of 114 buildings that were enrolled in Rolli were included among the UNESCO World Heritage site.
