The new Cathedral, or more correctly the summer Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta, was built between 1604 and 1825.
The building, 230 duration years due to wars, epidemics, battles and disagreements, on being the result of a centuries-old building but one construction site, has a homogeneous and coherent overall architecture and decoration. Only thing that betrays the long duration of the factory is the subtle combination that is felt inside, but especially in front, between Baroque and neoclassical style, the result of which is a kind of Baroque, classical tempered virtually started building Baroque and neoclassical finished.
