It is the 13th-century square on which stand the gothic Palace, the Governor's Palace and the Church of San Francesco and the via XX settembre. The two equestrian statues known as the Farnese, poste Horses on opposite sides of the square, has become one of the symbols of the city together with the same square and the Gothic building and Ranuccio and Alessandro Farnese raffiguarno.
The Governor's Palace is an 18th century neoclassical-style artwork of Lothair Tomb. On the façade has a clock whose sides are placed a sundial and a perpetual calendar. It is also the seat of the Chamber of Commerce.
