CIVICO MUSEO DIDATTICO DI SCIENZE NATURALI "JOHN STRANGE"

Characteristic element is the Museum's extraordinary collection created by the Mycological Dr. Mario Strange, who collected specimens of fungi from all continents, then for each a cast in resin and plaster. The collection features over one thousand different species for a total of about 3,000 copies. The Museum has other thematic sections, such as the Entomological collection, malacology collection, an entire room devoted to Mineralogy with beautiful mineral specimens from around the Piedmont, as well as a collection of mammals, birds, fish, amphibians and reptiles of Pinerolo.

' Ecomuseum proposes, through the stages of the first part of the route, to show how practically built a charcoal pile: stacking wood-the system used to pile the wood-draught fireplaces-the system and the materials used to cover the carbonaia, a journey that, ideally, the path progresses, proceeds even in the practice of building carbonaia up find it complete and fuming.
