Basilica di Sant'Andrea

It was founded in 1219 by Cardinal Guala Bicchieri and completed in 1227. It is an early example of Italian Gothic architecture, inspired by the Cistercian models. Of great artistic interest are the sculptural reliefs in places of the central portal and bezel in the left portal, dating back to the Church.

Built in 1290 by the will of Matteo I Visconti. Its original structure was square in shape with towers at the corners and the middle of each side. State archive of Vercelli

Established in 1965, has its headquarters in the historic centre of Vercelli, in the ancient monastery of the visitation, also of Santa Maria delle Grazie. The complex initially housed a community of poor Clares, then by a group of Augustinian 1485. In 1641 they were replaced by the visitandine from Aosta, which remained until the General suppression of the religious orders (1802). In 1804, the building was used as a seat of Vercelli's College where he taught the scientist Amedeo Avogadro di Quaregna (1809-19). Duomo

The impressive Cathedral of St. Eusebius neoclassical which can be seen today is the result of events that began after the end of the year 300 at the behest of St. Eusebius of Vercelli and first bishop of Piedmont. On the vestiges of the primitive Church Eusebius arose between the 5th and 6th century Christian basilica. In the following centuries the Cathedral underwent several renovations; in the mid 18th century, designed by Benedetto Alfieri and atrium were built the façade; in 1860 the dome was built.
