MUSEUM ' FACTS ' OF BERNARDINI-ANCIENT GLASS

The collection, ordered by Franco Dall'Ara and commissioned by the town of Sansepolcro and the Chapter of the Cathedral, is the first organic attempt in Italy of a museum dedicated to the art of stained glass. Largely preserves works of artists active in the late 19th century and early 20th century. It is complemented by a collection of color plates, sketches, texts and a series of 40 of late eighteenth century engravings depicting the stained glass windows of Chantilly on designs by Raphael.

MUSEO CIVICO OF SANSEPOLCRO

The first nucleus of the Museum dates back to 1850, when it was collected in the hall decorated with a fresco of the resurrection by Piero della Francesca various works from the surrounding area. The current construction dates back to 1975, but was extended and amended in 1985-88 and other work carried out from 1994 to 1998. These have permitted the recovery of some underground environments where it was staged an exhibition of archaeological finds.
