S. AGATA MUSEUMS: SACRED ART AND ARCHAEOLOGY

The museums of St Agatha are located in the coplesso Church. The section of sacred art was founded by a group of local volunteers with the help of determinant Rector don Corrado Paoli which granted the local. This is the sixteenth-century oratorio di San Jacopo that is part of the monumental complex adjoining the Church and which was properly restored just for hosting the works of sacred art. MUSEUM OF SHARP-CUTLER'S WORKSHOP AND PALAZZO DEI VICARI

The Museum, opened in 1987 as the first core in three small rooms of Palazzo dei Vicari, was unveiled in its final form in July 1999. Sorting and organizing museums focus on vitality and materiality of objects rather than on formal beauty more exquisitely. It invites the visitor to a direct contact with a everyday tool, allowing you to manipulate, disassemble and reassemble a knife so you can estimate sizes and shapes in relation to use. The Museum includes two different realities: the Museum-a place of memory in the Palazzo dei Vicari and the Cutler's workshop-workplace, as a living museum.
