ANTIQUARIUM CIVICO DI CASTEL DEL PIANO

Castel del Piano appears to have ancient origins, try numerous artifacts (Paleolithic and Neolithic age) found in the excavations of diatomaceous earth widely present on the territory.
The municipality was named for the first time from the ancient name "" Casale "Plana" within some documents of the Abbey of Monte Amiata dated year 890.

ART GALLERY OF PALAZZO NERUCCI

Of private origin, the collection is characterized by its strong collecting nature, presenting a significant series of landscapes and views. Among the works on display is however another kind: that of the portrait. You must report the prized self-portrait in pastel Venetian artist Rosalba Carriera (1675-1757) and the portrait of Cosimo III de ' Medici, also of female hand, done in embroidery on silk. In the same room there is also a sketch by Giuseppe Nicola Nasini purchased in 2005 by the municipal administration and the collection of the painter Edo Cei.
