The Church of the Immaculate Conception and St. Lazarus is a place of Catholic worship of Camaiore, Lucca.

History and description

The Franciscan church was built with the adjacent convent in 1610. In front of the Church, the chapel of the crucifix reminds the passage and anchorage, on the end of the 14th century, a penitential company of whites. The monastic Church, preceded by a portico with double order which leads also to the cloister, where many headstones remain to document burials of several noble families near Camaiore, has a single nave with six side altars and an imposing altar of 1627

The Church of San Michele is situated in piazza Armando Diaz in Camaiore.

History and description

Of Romanesque origin, it was rebuilt after the second world war.
Presents the structure of simple Tuscan churches, with a single nave, covered in sloping roofs, and an apse which emphasizes the high altar. The vestment, to drafts of stone, is visible both inside and outside.

ARCHAEOLOGICAL CIVIC MUSEUM OF CAMAIORE

The refurbishment project involves the construction of a section on human evolution and three sections relating to archaeological, prehistoric Etruscan-Roman and medieval. The design also provides the connection with three archaeological sites: the cave of prehistoric settlement (hamlet of Carey), the Roman Villa of Acquarella Street (fraction of Capezzano Pianore) and the medieval settlement of Montecastrense (hamlet of Metato). It's currently under construction is also a natural archaeological path on the river Lombricese, which will be part two of these archaeological sites.

History

Located in the middle of the urban plan, the ancient Church of Santa Maria Assunta was founded in 1278 after the expansion of the rural village until then in the employ of the Benedictine Abbey of St. Peter. Romanesque in style, was built between 1350 and 1365 Bell Tower. Pieve di Santo Stefano (Camaiore)

Stephen's Church is a sacred building situated in località Pieve in Camaiore.

History and description

Quoted in a Bishop's of the year 817 parchment, the Church shows up (after a restoration purist of 1930) as assumed in the 12th century, incorporating parts of a previous building, referring to the tenth century. The current portal, 17th century, partially occludes the traces of a double opening, however skewed.
The Interior houses a baptismal font carved from a sarcophagus of the 2nd-3rd century, and a triptych of Battista da Pisa.
This was the mother church which is the first Church in the whole
