The Diocesan Civic Museum of Sulmona is located in the former monastery of Santa Chiara. The building houses the Diocesan Museum of sacred art, the Municipal Gallery of modern and contemporary art and the Diocesan library.
The Diocesan Museum of sacred art is divided into three rooms.
• The first exhibition environment, inside the former Church of Santa Chiara, exhibiting works of art between the 12th and 15th centuries. Among the oldest items include silk drapery and a Carey decorated with Eagles and elephants, both from Cathedral of San Panfilo.
