The Museum is located inside the 18th-century Fort Carlo Emanuele III, built in the spring of 1738, first building of masonry then nascent town of Carloforte. Built in the middle of an Acropolis and natural body prepped, with the passage of time was used as a Prison Office.
The Fort was completely restored to house the Museum currently includes six rooms and a garden.
