The ancient city of Tharros lies, between sea and ponds, in the beautiful landscape of the Penisola del Sinis, among Capo San Marco, the hill of the Tower of Saint John and the high ground Su Murru Mannu. The Museum is dedicated to the exhibition of archaeological finds from the territory of Cabras on the peninsula of Sinis.
The nuraghic and nuraghic period is documented by the materials recovered with the excavation of Cuccuru is Arrius village that returned significant testimony from the middle Neolithic. the Museum contains relics that allow to reconstruct the history of the territory, in particular of Tharros, one of the oldest towns in Sardinia.

Hypogeum of San Salvatore

This hypogeum, partly dug into the rock, is inside the 17th- century church dedicated to Christ the Saviour in the homonymous village, an important pilgrimage centre. Frequented from the Middle Neolithic age (4th millennium BC), this site has been considered a sacred place by different cultures over the centuries.
