Civico Museo di Storia Naturale Don Michelangelo Ambrosioni

The Museum was founded by a wealthy naturalist collection that prof. Don Michelangelo Ambrosioni, Professor of science at the Civic schools College "a. Manzoni" of Merate, gathered during more than 40 years of teaching, in the late nineteenth century and the first 35 years of the twentieth century. Provided also personally to the design and implementation of a teaching Museum at the College. After his death, the entire collection was donated to the city of Merate that during the 1980s he decided to re-evaluate it in popular and scientific terms, giving birth to the current naturalistic Museum.

Osservatorio astronomico di Brera

The Brera Observatory (Italian: Osservatorio Astronomico di Brera) is an astronomical observatory in the Brera district of Milan, Italy. It was built in the historic Palazzo Brera in 1764 by the Jesuit astronomer Ruggero Boscovich. Following the suppression of the Jesuits by Clement XIV on 21 July 1773, the palace and the observatory passed to the then rulers of northern Italy, the Austrian Habsburg dynasty. The observatory has since remained under state control.
