The Museum of Comic Illustration of Grottammare, housed in a historic dancing (Kursaal), over sixties to accommodate temporary exhibitions, preserves and exhibits a rich collection of about 300 works: drawings, movie posters and comic-satirical illustrations, made for free, inspired by the characters in the show and signed by some of the most important Italian artists and designers.
The Museum is housed in the parish church of San Giovanni Battista, located in the quaint old village, with beautiful view on the coast below. The medieval building, rebuilt by architect Pietro Maggi between 1792 and 1809, was decorated in 1911 by the painter Giuseppe sambenedettese Pauri.
