Museum of sacred art

Founded in 1996 at the behest of the Episcopal Curia of San Marino-Montefeltro and of the municipal administration of San Leo, grows inside the piano nobile of Palazzo Mediceo of sixteenth century. Is divided into four large rooms where you showcase artifacts of sacred art from the 8th to the 18th century. The purpose of the Museum is to collect, protect and preserve important works of art of the territory Lambert from cult buildings which for various reasons are no longer able to ensure its preservation. The fortress museum is located inside the Medieval Fort of San Leo. Of beautiful medieval and Renaissance architecture, is enhanced by a collection of furniture and arms four-19th and a wide documentation of Renaissance Italian characters, starting with the count of Cagliostro, here held in complete isolation from 1791 until the moment of death, occurred in 1795.
