The Civic Museum "Mario Morelli" was established in 1997, following the donation of the private collection of Prof. Mario Morelli to the commune of San Marco Argentano. The collection, housed on the ground floor of the former convent of the Poor Clares, today seat of the Town Hall, is composed of 135 paintings; the exhibition is divided into five rooms, in which there are paintings referable to Neapolitan and Roman school of the 17th century, as well as several paintings by painters of the 20th century Roman calabresi. The Diocesan Museum of San Marco Argentano is situated in historic St. John's Church, no longer open to worship, and was inaugurated on 25 May 2006. The Museum area is organised on two levels: the ground floor is the sacred silverware 17th and 18th century and the upper floor are placed the vestments and paintings spanning a period from the 16th to the 18th century.
