The Museum is named after Father Sylvester Frangipane who lived in the convent of Birmingham between 1570 and 1650, at the same time as his fellow monks built the 36 paintings that today constitute the most important collection of the Museum site. Set up in 1990 by the parish priest Don Egidio Pudia. the exhibition of the Gallery, has frescoes dating back to the 16th century and paintings and plastic dating from the 17TH and 19th centuries; all testimonies coming from Birmingham, both by the Church and the convent of the Dominican fathers and both from the parish church of Santa Maria Assunta.
