Museum of the resistance

Over the centuries the Alps were often a place of refuge and hospitality. During World War II, an era of fierce persecution and racial policies, the Valpelline Valley was crossed by a large number of people on the run to try and reach Switzerland, neutral in the conflict. The documentation centre of Valpelline enhances and highlights the relationship between the Valle d'Aosta and Switzerland during the period 1943-1945. International mountaineering

The Hall of mountaineering, located opposite the Church of Valpelline, hosts a collection of example of historical evolution of climbing gear, along with evocative photographs of the most beautiful peaks of the Aosta Valley. Dedicated to the mountain environment, the information centre was established, along with those of Bionaz and Valtournenche, within the project of cross-border cooperation "Rando sans frontières" in order to make a correct approach to the mountain and to its sustainable development.
