As early as 1914 in Klausen was founded a Museum, then enriched over the years. In 1938, under the fascist regime, the collections were transferred to the Museo civico di Bolzano, which was expecting a so-called ' Museum of South Tyrol. Only in 1978 these works could be listed at, where they found their exhibition venue in the former Capuchin monastery.
