Atelier d'art et métiers of Ouvrier Dorino

Ouvrier Dorino deals with sculpture from 1977, the year in which he participated for the first time at the Sant'Orso fair. Until that time ran a workshop, but the work did not satisfy; gradually became a full-time sculptor. His beginnings in sculpture, however, date back to childhood, when he created santoni on pine during the hours devoted to manual activities. His output includes many bas-reliefs and sculptures in the round, running mainly on order. La Maison de Cogne Gérard-Dacanay is one of the greatest examples of traditional Aosta Valley architecture; It is an ancient farmhouse, which is already on trace of 17th century documents, which was donated by the last owners at the municipal administration just to allow the recovery and use of this important testimony of the past.

Permanent exhibition of Pillow lace-Cogne lace

The history of lace of Cogne began in 1665, when some Benedictine nuns fled from the monastery of Cluny took refuge in Valle d'Aosta; reviews of some municipalities of the region, they taught local women the art of Pillow lace. Over the centuries, the lace pillow pack in Cogne, it is passed down from mother to daughter only through teaching and direct experience, unlike similar French and Belgian productions making use of reproducing various designs.
