The Museum, established in 1885 and reequipped in 1986, ground floor presents an important collection of stone materials, among which stand out the inscriptions of late-era military. In three rooms on the first floor are ceramic materials, glass and bronze found in Roman colony Iulia Concordia; of great interest are a bronze statuette depicting Diana the Huntress and a glass cup with represented to the carving scene of Daniel in the Lions den. With the numismatic collection is also visible in the right atrium room. The Museum depends on the archaeological area located in Piazza Cardinal Costan
The City Museum, which opened May 16, 1999, is housed at the Tower of St. Agnes, one of the oldest structures of Portogruaro. The Town Council bought the tower in 1987 and commissioned in the years 1988-89 the consolidation and restoration.
The building, which is one of three doors remained of the ancient walls surrounding the city, is the only one who has maintained the original Gothic structure dating from the 13th century. The historical and artistic heritage preserved in it comes from the Museo Nazionale Concordiese di Portogruaro.
