The Museum was set up in 1987 and is headquartered in an old mill below the house inhabited by Carlo Levi (1902-1975) between 1935 and 1936, during the eight and a half months of confinement to Aliano. Exposes items used by farmers in farming, craft and everyday life: tools for working in the fields, the mill and the presses used for pressing the olives, crockery and pans, irons and tools to prepare homemade pasta, lamps, braziers, harnesses.

The small museum contains letters, documents, drawings relating to confinement to Aliano, between 1935 and 1936, which was condemned by the fascist regime the doctor, writer and painter Carlo Levi (1902-1975). Particularly interesting are the lithographs, donated by the Levi Christ stopped at Eboli.
