Explore the Ecuadoran town of Otavalo in the Andean highlands on this private, 2-day tour from Quito. Visit the Otavalo Market, South America's largest indigenous market; the beautiful Penuche waterfall; plus weaving workshops, and Cuicocha crater lake or Parque del Condor, depending on the itinerary chosen. Day 1.- (lunch, dinner)
After hotel pickup in Quito, relax during a 2 -hour journey outside of the city.
Visit San Pablo's Lake, try biscochos (traditional biscuits) at Otavalo Market, see the Peguche waterfall, and drop in on a local weaving workshop in the village know because of great weavers and musicians. These activities are perfect to learn about the culture, traditions, and history of this ethnic group, located in northern Ecuador.
Stay at Hostal Class or Hacienda Cusin.
Day 2.- (breakfast, lunch)
After breakfast, choose between two options.
Option One: Embark on a 5-hour hike around Cuicocha Lake. Enjoy a spectacular view of the lake and volcanoes that surround it. Trek from 3,000 to 3,680 meters above sea level.
Option Two: Visit to Cuicocha Lake, Condor Park, or a family of musicians that know and play Andean musical instruments.
Return and hotel drop-off in Quito.
