This day trip is a perfect choice for those who want a deeper insight into the 20th century history of Vietnam. You not only gain more information about the Vietnam War, you can also witness what was once one of the biggest battlefields in the world, to understand more about a small country whose endurance through many wars during its 4000-year history has given us a peaceful day like today.
Your visits for today's tour include The Reunification Palace (also known as Reunification Palace), here on April 30th 1975 the ‘Vietnam War’ officially ended when tank number 843 of the North Vietnamese Army crashed through the gates; War Remnants Museum, plus two of the the best examples of classical French colonial architecture Notre Dame Cathedral and Central Post Office. (Notre Dame Cathedral is under maintenance so visitors are not allowed to go inside).
Lunch is served at a local restaurant before we drive 1,5 hours to Cu Chi tunnels. Upon arrival, you'll watch a brief propaganda video before spending the next hour exploring weapon and booby trap exhibitions, navigating authentic VC tunnels, visiting different underground bunkers (kitchens, meeting rooms, ammunition etc.), firing range and more. Try some local tapioca before driving back to Saigon. Tour ends between 6pm - 7pm at your hotel (District 1 only).
