The Inca Trail is by far the most famous trek in South America and is rated by many to be in the top 5 treks in the world. In just 10 miles (16km) it manages to combine beautiful mountain scenery, lush cloud-forest, subtropical jungle and, of course, a stunning mix of Inca paving stones, ruins and tunnels. The final destination of the trail just cannot be beaten: Machu Picchu, the mysterious "Lost City of the Incas"
Day 01 : Cusco - Ollantaytambo - km 104 - Aguas calientes.
hikers , wil be pick up from your hotel in cusco at around 4:00 am and driven to ollantaytambo (train station) for 1:30 hour aprox by bus. then we will board a tourist expeditions train for about 1 hour and 40 minutes to kilometer 104 , which is starting point , then we will start walking to the Chacha bamba. After we will continue walking for about 3 hours until Wiñay wayna (for ever young )
After lunch in Wiñaywayna we continue through a beautiful cloud forest to the famous Inti Punku or Sun Gate. From this point you will be able to contemplate and observe this unique place, last 45 minutes to be in front of this wonder, where you can feel a peaceful and special feeling. Spend a short time for pictures and views then we prepare our mind for the next early morning,then we walk for 1:00 hour down to aguas calientes town hot springs This is all considered a low altitude hike, but you would want to be fit.
Day 02 : Aguas calientes - Machu picchu - Aguas Calientes - Cusco .
at 04:00 am, the group have to wake up to be ready to hike up to the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu, the hiking starts by following the bus road for about 25 min then take a short trail that goes up to the Arqueological site of Machu picchu , having the amazing opportunity to see the sun rising after registration in the main entrance of Machu Picchu which is open at 06:00 am, as soon as we are walking around Inca citadel of Machu Picchu, the guide will explain about the Inca history and share everything he knows , the guiding tour takes 2 hours approximately then you will have free time to visit and walk by yourself, having account the returning train schedule, if you have enough time you can climb the most famous Huayna Picchu mountain where you can see the Inca citadel at all its splendor then by the afternoon , you can take a bus or walk back down to Aguas Calientes , to get on board touristic train toward Ollantaytambo then you will be pick up in touristic bus back to Cusco city
