Sanctuary of Fatima – one of the most important sites for Christians, with about 5 million visitors each year. After the free time in Fatima to visit the Sanctuary we will go to Batalha where we will visit its imposing Gothic Monastery – named a UNESCO World Heritage Site. During the break for lunch, relax in the picturesque village of Nazaré, known for the world’s largest wave and regional restaurants. Finally, we arrive at Óbidos, a romantic medieval village famous for its winding streets, whitewashed houses covered with flowers, vases and tiles. All this within the walls of a magnificent 12th century castle.
In the morning we will start with a drive along the rolling hills while heading to the Sanctuary of Fátima. The time here will be free.
Then we will visit Nazaré.
During lunch time, relax at the fishing village of Nazaré, known for its variety of regional restaurants and cafés.
Afterwards, we’ll make a quick stop at the Nazaré cliffs to appreciate the marvelous views over the Atlantic.
The last stop of the day will be at Óbidos. What makes it one of Europe’s most romantic medieval villages are its incredibly picturesque cobblestone streets. It is lined with colorful houses filled with geraniums and bougainvillea – all encircled by the walls of a 12th century castle.
