Pick ups available from 900am-930am at Wellington i-SITE, cruise ship or local accommodation providers. The tour is fully guided by an experienced local guide who will provide narration while you travel in a private tour vehicle. All tasting fees and lunch are included. Enjoy a scenic drive over the Rimutaka Ranges including a short stop at the Summit before descending into the Wairarapa region. The first tasting stop is at C'est Cheese in Featherston for a range of fantastic local and imported cheeses and gourmet foods. Next we share the love of Martinborough, winemaking and of course, wine by visiting some of the oldest vines in the region, exploring the first winery in Martinborough (now converted to The Vineyard Cafe), seeing the winemaking process - all while tasting Margrain's fine wines. Lunch (mains and a drink) will be served at The Vineyard Cafe overlooking the spectacular country side of the Martinborough wine growing region. On Sundays and Mondays the winery tour is at Ata Rangi and lunch is served at Poppies. Next stop is a craft beer tasting paddle at Martinborough Brewery. These paddles consist of your choice of any 4 of the 8 taps on offer. On Tuesdays and Wednesdays, craft beer tasting occurs just around the corner at the historical Martinborough Hotel. Our next tasting stop allows you to wander amongst the oldest olive trees in Martinborough, learning about the different olive varieties and what happens throughout the olive year. Progress to the tasting room where you will learn how to taste olive oil like a professional, and how to use extra virgin olive oil and the full range of infused oils in quick, easy and spectacular recipes.
