Learn to cook the vegetarian version of the most famous Spanish dish, Paella, in its birthplace with a complete 4.5-hour guided experience. Tour Central Market to collect your ingredients and take in the atmosphere of one of the largest and oldest food markets in Europe. Then head to the kitchen to learn from an experienced chef how to make this iconic dish. This is a shared group experience; your party will be joined by other parties. Meet your guide at 10am at the Valencia School of Rice and Paella and walk together to Central Market (Mercado Central) for a guided tour. Spend approximately one hour exploring this bustling market and collecting the necessary ingredients for your recipe. A hub of Valencian agriculture, the best quality ingredients for paella can be found here. Around 11am, return to the kitchen and learn the process of cooking a real Valencia paella (the original Paella), which you will then cook for yourself.
Relax and have fun as you cook with your group and learn from an expert chef about the makings of an authentic paella. During the cooking process, indulge in tasting Valencian white wine served with a traditional appetizer. Once you've finished cooking the paella, sit down and enjoy the fruits of your labor. Complement your meal with a taste of Valencian red wine. The paella will be served accompanied by several starters and a traditional and delicious dessert.
Upon completion of the experience, you will receive a diploma certifying your new cooking skills. Experience ends at the cooking school at approximately 2:30pm.
