Suit up in your cool riding gear, board your chauffeured vintage sidecar, & head out towards the False Bay coastline passing through the seaside town of Gordons Bay and continuing onto Clarence Drive, the scenic coastal road that follows the eastern side of the picturesque False Bay all the way to the coastal village of Bettys Bay. Visit the nearby penguin colony & then head across to Pringle Bay for a hearty lunch. After lunch, return along Clarence drive enjoying the indigenous fynbos vegetation and mountainside scenery on your right hand side and the Atlantic Ocean on the left hand side. Keep your eyes peeled for whales, dolphins, seals, and the busy marine birdlife. As you approach Somerset West, you can elect to either visit the Cheetah Outreach sanctuary or you can choose to visit a winery for wine tasting. After your chosen activity, head back towards the setting sun into the city of Cape Town.
Your full day outing starts with a hotel pickup at 9.00am. Once you've suited up in your riding gear provided (helmet, goggles, leather jacket, bandana), completed the paperwork and had your driver's briefing, you'll head out of the city in an easterly direction towards the seaside town of Gordons Bay. After passing Gordons Bay harbour & Bikini Beach, you'll continue along the scenic Clarence Drive past pristine beaches, the majestic Kogelberg mountains and the ever-changing indigenous fynbos vegetation. You'll be able to spot an abundance of marine life in the Atlantic ocean such as whales (especially in the calving season, July to November), dolphins, seals, and all types and species of birdlife.
After approximately 2 hours driving, you'll arrive at the quaint seaside village of Betty's bay where you can choose to stroll though the Harold Porter Botanical gardens before you head off to Stoney Point, the home of a colony of endangered African penguins located not too far from Betty's Bay. Stoney Point is home to one of only two land-based penguin colonies in South Africa and is home to one of the largest successful breeding colonies of African penguins in the world.
After you've built up an appetite, re-board your sidecar & travel a short distance to Pringle Bay where you can enjoy a plate of freshly caught fish & chips. Once fortified, it's back on the bikes again and following the coastal road all the way back to Somerset West where you stop & visit the Cheetah Outreach sanctuary where you get up close & personal with one of Africa's majestic predators. After the Cheetahs, it's back on your chariot & off to the Meerlust Wine estate, home of stunning red wines, the most iconic being the Rubicon Red. Enjoy a session of tasting before heading back towards the setting sun and the City of Cape Town. Estimated return time to your hotel is 5.00pm
