Start your trip to Sapa with the an exciting night train from Hanoi. Visit the colorful and charming ethnic villages of Sapa including, Y Linh Ho, Lao Chai, Ta Van and Cat Cat. This trip can be operated either as a joined group tour or a private tour.
Night 1: Hanoi – Lao CaiDay 2: Sapa – Cat Cat – Sapa – Lao Cai (B, L, D)
Start the trek with a 20:30 pickup from your hotel, then transfer to Hanoi Railway Station and take the night train to Lao Cai. Overnight on the train. The train is an air-conditioned soft-sleeper with four berths per cabin.
Day 1: Sapa – Y Linh Ho – Lao Chai – Ta Van (B, L, D)
Arrive in Lao Cai at approximately 05:00 to 05:30, then be transferred to Sapa. Refresh and have breakfast at the hotel. At 09:30, start the 6km (3.7mi) hike down to the southeast of Sapa, along the side of Muong Hoa Valley, to Y Linh Ho village, home of the Black H’mong folk. Continue on with a 2km (1.2mi) trek down to Lao Chai village, through terraced rice fields, to the Ta Van village of the Dzay people. Enjoy the landscape on the way. Have lunch with a local family, and learn about the local architecture, daily lifestyles and customs. The last part will be another 2km trek to the bus stop in Tavan for the trip back to Sapa by jeep or minivan.

Take a 4km (2.4mi) hike down to the southwest of Sapa for a visit to Cat Cat, the village of the Black H’mong. Relax at the foot of the stunning waterfall and the vestige of a hydroelectric power station that was constructed by the French during the colonial time in Vietnam. Enjoy a picnic lunch by the side of the river before a 3km (1.8mi) trek to Sin Chai, the village located at the foot of Fansipan Mountain, known as “the roof of Vietnam and Indochina”. From here, enjoy huge stunning landscapes before your climb. A jeep to will return you to Sapa. Take a bus back to the train station, and have dinner before boarding the train back to Hanoi.
